Why Terminator would make a great class based shooter

For decades now fans of the terminator series have been teased by the post apocalyptic war after Judgment Day. This "era" or war set in the terminator universe has not been as flushed out as I think it could, and should have. Especially in gaming, leading us to my first brainstorming session;

What if the next Terminator game was a classed based multiplayer shooter in the vein of Team Fortress 2 and Battlefield?

Skynet VS. Humans

As seen in the picture above; the line of terminators from Skynet lends itself perfectly to the traditional class based play style system. The chassis' and features are varied from model to model; you can easily compare these to TF2 classes -

Look Familiar?

T-1000 would make the PERFECT spy...Enough said

Obviously I could continue the path of granularity however I believe this gets the point across. Humans can vary by equipment based loadouts complimented with reverse engineered Skynet technology while the Terminators are classed by mechanical features and chassis models. This may be rough to stretch as a standalone title without exponential development costs and time. Instead I suggest that this be made into mod of an existing game. If given the treatment that EA gave to Battlefield Vietnam (Bad Company 2) this fantasy could turn into a reality all terminator fans would come together for. Just because the entire franchise is primarily focused on preventing said war doesn’t mean that the war didn’t happen. I would be really excited to see more content based around the war, even if it isn’t in the form of a game. I just think this story would work really well in this genre.
